The trailer shows the Imperial Ottoman Bank in 1923 and an infection resembling the 1918 outbreak. A Steam post dated September 28 postpones the Halloween demo so the team can rebuild the core systems. Japanese users rank third worldwide for wishlist registrations.
Delaying a Halloween demo to rebuild core systems rather than patch them is a cost the developer is choosing to pay now, which puts the playable build's timing behind a trailer that is already setting the 1923 Istanbul premise.

The trailer covers the prologue: an infection closely resembling the severe symptoms of the disease that spread in 1918, and a set of scenes inside the Imperial Ottoman Bank in 1923. The game is a slow-zombie FPS set in Istanbul in 1923, with no aim assist, so careful shooting and ammunition management carry the pacing.

The demo that had been scheduled for around Halloween is postponed. In the September 28 Steam post, the team said its production staff grew significantly and that it is rebuilding the core systems from the ground up instead of making stopgap fixes. That work diverged far enough from the planned demo that the team decided against releasing a build it felt could not convey the game. The demo will be remade, and no new date was given.

Rebuilding Undead Chronicles core systems means the Halloween demo moves past the game's own prologue. The trailer's 1923 Ottoman Bank and 1918-style outbreak now sell a game whose playable build doesn't exist yet.
Undead Chronicles delays its playable demo, so the 1923 prologue trailer is now the only finished thing the game has.
Undead Chronicles is selling 1923 with a finished trailer while the playable demo gets rebuilt. The Ottoman Bank prologue exists; the core systems don't. Japanese wishlist registrations rank third worldwide, which means the pitch is landing hardest where the build is furthest from ready.
Seyfhouse Games released a prologue trailer for Undead Chronicles through 28 Games Later: A Horror Showcase, showing the Imperial Ottoman Bank in 1923 and an infection resembling the 1918 outbreak.
