The product bundles a main unit that integrates the wheel and drive unit with load-cell pedals. Thrustmaster says it is the first Gran Turismo product to combine a main unit with load-cell pedals, and that the company has become an official partner of the Gran Turismo World Series.
Thrustmaster is pairing a licensed Gran Turismo 7 wheel with load-cell pedals and tying its firmware updates to the game's own update schedule, which puts the peripheral on the same maintenance cycle as the software it is built around.

The wheel carries an official license for Gran Turismo 7 and uses a motor structure Thrustmaster calls Direct Axial Drive, with steady torque of 5 N·m and an instantaneous maximum of 10 N·m. The company says the margin keeps output from hitting its ceiling under high load while allowing quick, low-latency response. A proprietary technology called HARMONY generates high-frequency torque. With Gran Turismo 7, Thrustmaster says the unit produces force feedback effects including GEAR JOLT for shift changes and ENGINE ROAR, which resonates the wheel body with engine revolutions. The rim is leather-finished with four rotary encoders around the hub.

Thrustmaster's T-GT III pairs a load-cell pedal set with the wheel, and the company says it is the first Gran Turismo product to do so.
