Mariko Iwazaki directs at IMAGICA Infos and Imageworks Studio, with Shiki writing the scripts and en-dolphin producing. Kujira Yumemi composes the music. The manga's 29th chapter and fourth volume arrived in October.","whyItMatters":"Shiki writing the scripts herself is the detail that matters here: the original author stays in the room while the manga is still running, which is how a serialized dark romance keeps its plot rather than getting compressed into an anime-original ending.","webCardHtml":"\u003cp\u003eThe manga follows Kate, a princess maiden with vampiric powers, who enters an arranged marriage with Luka, the mightiest king of the realm, to protect her motherland. On their first night the scent of his blood wakes what she is, and the bond becomes a question of contract, instinct, or love. The site calls the work a forbidden dark romantic fantasy set in an era of war.\u003c/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTaeko Miura directs the sound at RD, and Kazuya Takahashi is credited with production supervision. That puts the author directly in charge of what gets cut. IMAGICA Infos and Imageworks Studio share the animation, with en-dolphin producing.","newsletterBlurb":"The Bloodthirsty Bride Devours the King, Shiki and Yū Shinonome's manga, gets a television anime next year.
