The tactical RPG is set in Japan during the Boshin War and mixes magic with machinery, with players leading a party against yokai and steampunk-style mechanical enemies. The developer says the extra time goes to polishing combat and refining progression. It is planned for PC via Steam, GOG.com, and the Epic Games Store. New trailers and world-setting information will keep coming.
The delay pushes a Boshin War tactical RPG out of the fall 2026 window and into March 2027, with the developer spending the extra months on combat balance and party progression rather than on new content.

The new date is March 10, 2027. Another Angle Games says the extra months go to remaining issues and polish, with combat refinement as the stated priority: positioning, initiative, and ability selection should matter in every battle, and careful planning should be rewarded. The progression system is also being reworked so party growth gives players more reason to try different skills and change tactics between fights.

The setting is an alternate Boshin War, with Emperor Meiji's Imperial Army on one side and yokai on the other, plus mechanical weapons out of their period. Combat and progression get the extra months.
Shadow Of The Road moves from November 12, 2026 to March 10, 2027, and the PC storefront slate (Steam, GOG.com, Epic Games Store) is unchanged. The delay is aimed at combat and progression, which puts the schedule risk on systems tuning rather than on the Boshin War and yokai premise.
Another Angle Games pushed Shadow of the Road from November 12, 2026 to March 10, 2027.
