The season ends with Tanya baffled: Zettour has not ended the war, and Imperial armies are rolling into Idola. Community scores for episode 11 are 4.4, for episode 12 4.5.
Zettour's plan to make the war so costly that all sides accept any end reveals that Rudersdorf died not because he was too extreme but because he was not extreme enough, leaving Tanya with a betrayal she did not see coming.

Tanya wins the three-way battle of ace mages not by power but by strategy. Mary fights on emotion and talent alone, and Mikel underestimates her, a mistake Tanya invites by behaving like an idiot child and reloading mid-attack until he closes in. Rudersdorf dies still believing the assassination plot was a figment of his own mind, convinced he misjudged Zettour. Tanya is baffled when Zettour does not end the war and Imperial armies roll into Idola.

Saga of Tanya the Evil II ends with Zettour in power and the war still running. Tanya's assassination mission worked; the outcome she expected never arrived. The season closer is her confusion, not a victory.
Saga of Tanya the Evil II ends with Zettour in power and the war still going. Tanya's mission succeeded; her premise did not.
Saga of Tanya the Evil II closes with Zettour in power and Imperial armies rolling into Idola, so Tanya's clandestine assassination run delivers the opposite of what she planned. The finale leaves her baffled because the war did not end. That confusion, not the mission, is the season's final note.
Saga of Tanya the Evil II reaches its climax in episodes 11 and 12, with Tanya out-thinking both Mary and Mikel while carrying out the mission to kill Rudersdorf. Zettour's real plan is to make the war so costly that no one will oppose ending it. Tanya ends the season baffled as Imperial armies roll into Idola.
[{"source":"Anime News Network","url":"https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/saga-of-tanya-the-evil-ii/episodes-11-12/.242125","title":"Saga of Tanya the Evil II Episodes 11-12\
{"anime_titles":["Saga of Tanya the Evil II"],"manga_titles":[],"work_titles":[],"studios":[],"people":[],"type":"release","domain":"anime","is_roundup":false}
["Saga of Tanya the Evil II
