He produces the release himself and handles vocals across seven tracks. Songwriting and arrangement come from *Luna, OSTER project, Hachioji P, Ruto of Sutopuri, buzzG, and others, with brass, guitar, bass, and drums credited per track. A crossfade of all seven songs premiered on YouTube on October 22.
Inami is credited as producer on every track and as vocalist throughout, so the seven-song release reads as his own statement rather than a collection of outside writes.

A crossfade of all seven songs went up on YouTube on October 22, two days before the album arrives. The track list splits the labor: *Luna arranged the opening Ray of Light, OSTER project wrote and arranged Heroes Gear with a full brass section, and Hachioji P handled Ironical. Ruto of Sutopuri worked with TOKU and Matsu on Fuse, and buzzG wrote, arranged, and played all other instruments and programming on the closing Under Skin Monologue.

Rai Inami produces all seven tracks on Hero himself, but the songwriting roster (OSTER project, Hachioji P, buzzG) does the melodic work.
