The company held visitor votes on a name at two events: TOHOKU DX GATEWAY 2026 in Sendai on October 20, 2026, and the Local Government Informatization Promotion Fair 2026 at Makuhari Messe on October 27 and 28. Visitors picked from three candidates, Komomin, Komomaru, and Qomo (Komo). Polimill says the results and the official name will be announced later. The character is designed to embody the product's stated role: standing beside municipal staff and supporting research and document creation so employees have more time for work the company frames as only people can do, such as listening to residents and deciding what a locality should do. Character creation is credited to Chloe Adams. Polimill says QommonsAI is expected to reach about 1,200 local governments and about 650,000 users nationwide in December 2026.","whyItMatters":"Polimill is marketing QommonsAI around human time rather than AI capability, and it says the next full version will be unveiled at a second-anniversary summit on October 30, 2026, co-organized with Microsoft Japan, where ten municipalities present adoption cases.","webCardHtml":"\u003cp\u003ePolimill frames the character as a companion rather than a decision-maker.
