The price is 330,000 yen. The chassis is machined and polished from a single block of aluminum, with Type-S silent electrostatic capacitive switches and a newly designed mounting structure. Lottery applications for advance order rights run October 22 to 28, with general sales from December 7 at the PFU Direct main store.
PFU is testing how far the HHKB name reaches: a 330,000-yen machined-aluminum board capped at 300 units, sold first by lottery, turns an anniversary into a collector allocation rather than a broad product launch.

The Elite is built on the HHKB Professional HG and keeps the series' electrostatic capacitive non-contact switches, in the Type-S silent version. The mounting structure is new, and PFU says the aluminum block's rigidity raises stability during key input.

Only the English layout is offered, and the connection is wired. Buyers pick Ink, White, or Snow, each with or without keytop legends. The bottom carries a laser-engraved logo and a per-unit limited number, and newly designed legs give four tilt angles from two part types and two mounting directions.

Advance shipments are scheduled to begin around March 2027. General orders ship roughly four to five months after ordering, and the final order deadline is June 30. Scarcity sets the buyer pool, and it is the aluminum chassis.
PFU limits the HHKB Professional Elite to 300 units. The October 22 to 28 lottery, not the 330,000 yen, decides who gets in.
PFU puts the HHKB Professional Elite at 330,000 yen but caps it at 300 units. The October 22 to 28 lottery decides access, so the price is less a barrier than the unit count. Even buyers ready to pay need a lottery win, and the aluminum chassis is why the supply is that small.
PFU announced the HHKB Professional Elite, a 300-unit made-to-order model at 330,000 yen marking the series' 30th anniversary.
