The beta runs until October 13 and includes a solo and co-op Magistrate mode and a PvP Ripper mode at no cost. Set in Whitechapel, London in 1888, one player becomes the Ripper while the others investigate. A PC Steam release is planned with Japanese language support.
Other Ocean, the studio behind Project Winter, is testing a detective-versus-killer format where the evidence itself is unreliable, which is a different design problem than the survival distrust of its earlier game.

The open beta is free and runs until October 13, with sign-ups handled through player.gg. Other Ocean Interactive is releasing a beta build and patching bugs in parallel, so updates may arrive during the test window.

The game plays out over three phases: the Ripper commits a murder, the investigation side gathers evidence at the scene and interrogates suspects, and a judgment phase follows. The Ripper plants fake evidence, bribes witnesses, and can at times transform into a giant monster and attack people. Players have to weigh whether the clues they gathered can be trusted at all.

A PC release on Steam is planned, with Japanese language support.

Other Ocean's beta runs both modes at once: solo investigative play and asymmetric PvP. Running them together tests whether one player being the Ripper holds up for the seven who are not.
4 Penny Coffins ships two modes into one beta. The Ripper side and the Magistrate side need opposite kinds of balance tuning.
Other Ocean's beta puts two modes in at once: a solo and co-op Magistrate mode and a PvP Ripper mode.
