The phrasing leans on the game's pharmaceutical-company satire. Obsidian Entertainment's sequel launched in October 2025, and a premium edition included a DLC pass for two additional story packs. The game is on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows via Steam, Microsoft Store, and Battle.net.","whyItMatters":"A teaser built on the game's in-world corporate satire is the first word on the DLC since the premium-edition DLC pass was announced, and it points to the two story packs finally arriving after a long silence.","webCardHtml":"\u003cp\u003eThe confirmation went out through the official X account: information on the DLC is coming soon. The wording borrows from the game\u0026#39;s in-fiction pharmaceutical industry, saying the DLC has cleared a clinical trial, with phrases like an unfortunate death and side effects guaranteed threaded through the post. Whether those point at content or are a joke is left open.\u003c/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe game is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows through Steam, Microsoft Store, and Battle.net. Steam is running a 50 percent off sale through October 9.\u003c/p\u003e","blueskyPost":"The Outer Worlds 2 shipped with a DLC pass covering two story packs, so this clinical-trial tease is the first of those commitments coming due. Obsidian's joke framing does not change that the content was already sold.","twitterPost":"The Outer Worlds 2 sold a pass for two story packs up front, so this tease is a pre-sold promise, not a surprise.","threadsPost":"The Outer Worlds 2 premium edition sold a pass for two additional story packs before any of them existed. The clinical-trial joke lands on top of that: Obsidian is teasing content players already paid for, which makes the next news post less an announcement and more a delivery update.","newsletterBlurb":"Xbox Game Studios says The Outer Worlds 2 DLC information is coming soon, announced through the official X account. The post frames it as the DLC passing a clinical trial, with an unfortunate death and guaranteed side effects thrown in. The premium edition has carried a DLC pass for two additional story packs.","attributionJson":"[{\"source\":\"Game Spark\",\"url\":\"http://www.gamespark.jp/article/2026/10/02/173092.html\",\"title\":\"SFRPG『The Outer Worlds 2』DLCは近日公開！\\\"副作用は保証付き\\\"の内容で\\\"臨床試験\\\"突破を報告\"}]","lintFlagsJson":null,"lintHits":0,"costUsd":0,"inputTokens":5475,"outputTokens":582,"status":"published","repairAttempts":0,"nextRepairAt":null,"factsAttemptedAt":1791256042,"createdAt":"2026-10-06T03:05:30.000Z","publishedAt":"2026-10-06T03:06:12.000Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-06T03:06:12.000Z"},"cluster":{"id":"c_0966fd06cbee880fe507cc4a","canonicalTitle":"SFRPG『The Outer Worlds 2』DLCは近日公開！“副作用は保証付き”の内容で“臨床試験”突破を報告","representativeArticleId":"a_0c9e4afcb0db058ebdf145d1","sourceCount":1,"writtenSourceCount":1,"writeAttempts":0,"isSolo":true,"entitiesJson":"{\"anime_titles\":[],\"manga_titles\":[],\"work_titles\":[\"The Outer Worlds 2\"],\"studios\":[],\"people\":[],\"type\":\"announcement\",\"domain\":\"games\",\"is_roundup\":false}","contentType":"news","status":"published","firstSeenAt":"2026-10-02T11:45:03.000Z","lastSeenAt":"2026-10-02T11:45:03.000Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-06T03:06:07.000Z"},"attribution":[{"source":"Game Spark","url":"http://www.gamespark.jp/article/2026/10/02/173092.html","title":"SFRPG『The Outer Worlds 2』DLCは近日公開！“副作用は保証付き”の内容で“臨床試験”突破を報告"}],"entities":{"anime_titles":[],"manga_titles":[],"work_titles":["The Outer Worlds 2"],"studios":[],"people":[],"type":"announcement","domain":"games","is_roundup":false},"keyFacts":null}
