It uses a 24.5MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor and the EXPEED 7 engine. US direct pricing is $1,399.95 for the body and $1,699.95 with the NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 kit. Release is planned for mid-October 2026.
Nikon is selling the Z5II's sensor and processor in a smaller, lighter body at $300 less than the Z5II's reduced US price, aimed at phone users moving up rather than at viewfinder buyers.

The Z5IIC drops the electronic viewfinder and the DSLR-style hump, cutting body height from about 100.5mm to about 80.5mm and body weight from about 620g to about 538g (about 700g to about 620g with battery and card). It keeps the 24.5MP back-illuminated sensor and EXPEED 7 engine of the Z5II, and the rear monitor is a 3.2-inch vari-angle touchscreen at about 1.04 million dots, down from the Z5II's roughly 2.1 million. Silver and black are offered, and the body uses magnesium alloy with dust and drip resistance.

Dropping the EVF is what lets Nikon hit $1,399.95 on a full-frame body; the Z5IIC trades a viewfinder for the price and weight that keep it under the Z5II.
The Z5IIC hits $1,399.95 because Nikon dropped the EVF. Weight and price are the trade, not the sensor.
Nikon's Z5IIC keeps the 24.5MP sensor and EXPEED 7 but loses the EVF. That omission is what buys the $1,399.95 body price and the smaller frame; the spec sheet and the price tag are the same decision.
Nikon announced the Z5IIC abroad, a full-frame mirrorless camera that removes the electronic viewfinder and the finder hump from the Z5II. It keeps the 24.5MP back-illuminated sensor and EXPEED 7 engine, and adds 15 scene modes to the mode dial plus the company's first AF detection for fish.
