Written by Kankuro Kudo and planned and produced by Akira Isayama, the series stars Kento Kaku, Kenichi Matsuyama, Noriko Eguchi, Yumi Kawai, Masatoshi Hamada, Hayato Isomura, Shusaku Kamikawa, Hiroshi Yamamoto (Robert), Chisei Nakai, Maki Sakai, and Yoh Yoshida. Comedian Satoshi Hashiyasume supervised the aufguss, and Yakusho trained under him. The series streams worldwide from October 22.
The cuts push the sauna, not the star, as the show's centre: Takasegawa's comeback is staged as menial labour under a senior part-timer, which tells you what kind of comedy Kudo and Isayama have built.

The character detail that the scene cuts spend the most room on is the towel. Takasegawa smooths its wrinkles under Okamoto's instruction, smiles while cleaning the bath area, and grips the löyly ladle with a serious gaze. The series premise has him return to Japan after the pandemic to find the public and his own family have forgotten him; the sauna shop Shirakaba, where Chijimi and Okamoto work, is where he restarts from zero.

Satoshi Hashiyasume, a comedian who also works as a heat-wave master, is credited as sauna aufguss supervisor and advisor.
