The original shipped in 2020; this edition overhauls graphics and systems. Every NPC and enemy is a monster girl, and enemy monster girls can be recruited as companions once affection conditions are met.
The remaster pitches a Mystery Dungeon-style dungeon crawler on Nintendo Switch 2 where monster girl recruitment, not combat alone, carries the strategy layer, with a second publisher handling that version.

The protagonist is pulled into another world where NPCs and enemies alike are monster girls, and the goal is the Tower of Return, where the Demon Lord holds the Orb of Power. Dungeons are grid-based and randomly generated, and maps cannot be backtracked. The controls are built for a gamepad.

Recruitment works through affection. An enemy monster girl joins as a shinma once affection reaches 3 and a condition specific to her is met, such as surviving several turns of attacks for a slime. Companions fight alongside the protagonist and level up, and some carry their own abilities: a fairy moves at double speed, a werewolf uses charge-up and knockback attacks.

Monster Girls Roguelike's remaster keeps the one system that separates it from Mystery Dungeon: enemy monster girls join the party once affection conditions are met.
Monster Girls Roguelike's hook is recruitment: enemy monster girls become companions once affection conditions are met.
Monster Girls Roguelike is built on Mystery Dungeon style floors, but recruitment is what sets it apart. Enemy monster girls join the party once affection conditions are met, so the dungeon and the relationship system share the same loop.
NEKOTOKAGE GAMES has a Remastered Edition of Monster Girls and the Mysterious Adventure, a Mystery Dungeon-modeled roguelike from 2020, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version sold by Wakuwaku Games.
