The adult-oriented build recreates Sony's original PlayStation console, priced at 27,980 yen with tax included, using 1,911 LEGO pieces. The completed model is roughly the same size as the real console, measuring about 6 by 26 by 19 centimeters. Buyers can attach the brick-built controller to the body and press working Open and Power buttons. The set includes a diorama hidden inside the casing: a miniature Gran Turismo course from the 1997 game and a scene from Ape Escape, released in 1999, featuring the red and blue monkey helmets. The diorama pieces can be stored in the console or displayed separately. The set carries product number 72306 and is recommended for ages 18 and up. Sales run through the LEGO official online store, LEGO Stores, the Benelic LEGO Store Rakuten Ichiba shop, Legoland Japan Resort, and the Legoland Discovery Center locations in Tokyo and Osaka.
The set treats two 1990s PlayStation games as the collectible pay-off rather than the console alone, which is an unusual choice for a licensed hardware replica aimed at adult builders.

The LEGO PlayStation ships as set 72306 and is listed for ages 18 and up, part of the LEGO line aimed at adult builders. The piece count, 1,911, sits above most standard retail sets and reflects the console-and-controller build. Completed dimensions are listed at approximately 6 by 26 by 19 centimeters in height, width, and depth, which LEGO Japan describes as close to the footprint of the original hardware.

The interactive parts are the two front buttons. The Open button and the Power button both depress, and the controller connects to the body the way the real unit's cable would. Opening the console reveals the stored diorama pieces, which cover a Gran Turismo course from the 1997 game and an Ape Escape scene from 1999 with the red and blue monkey helmets. The pieces can stay inside or come out for display.

Availability spans the LEGO official online store, LEGO Stores nationwide, Benelic's LEGO Store on Rakuten Ichiba, Legoland Japan Resort, and the Legoland Discovery Center locations in Tokyo and Osaka.
