Matrix, Liz, and Taiwan's iSWEETY are among the developers helping.
KADATH is trying to run a small, creator-first production house that pulls staff from several studios as needed, and Under Mythos is the test case for whether that model can deliver an original JRPG.

The game opens with the cat waking in a snowstorm, walking into a cave, and finding a Japanese hot spring inn on the other side. That inn is where the work happens: serving guests and exploring dungeons for ingredients.

Miyaji said the concept came from wanting a Cthulhu mythos game and an indie-scale project at the same time, citing DAVE THE DIVER and Cult of the Lamb as games he watched while thinking it through. The pitch he settled on was Cozy and Crazy, cute characters in front and something frightening behind them.

KADATH, founded January 2026, is making Under Mythos: a cat runs a Japanese hot spring inn while a Cthulhu mythos world sits underneath.
