Animates Wondering Mate Shorts for Meta Taxi
Hurray!, one of the studios on A Few Moments of Cheers, is planning and animating Wondering Mate, an original short anime that premieres on Meta Taxi's YouTube channel on December 16. The story is set in another world where avatars from discontinued apps live. Yuno Nakahara plays Aco, a high school girl avatar who dreams of becoming human, and Nobuhiko Okamoto plays Bit, an avatar who wants nothing to do with becoming human.
For Hurray!, a studio known on the film side for A Few Moments of Cheers, this is a short-form commission from a YouTube channel built on a virtual taxi format, and its first original short anime.

The run is 12 episodes of three minutes each. Meta Taxi is a YouTube channel whose talk sessions are set inside a virtual taxi roaming Tokyo at night, and Wondering Mate is its first original short anime.

Inu Hirayama, a member of the comedy sketch duo TentenHanten, writes the script, which the source describes as his anime scripting debut. Kodansha's Shunsuke Sagawa and DNP's Saki Nakao are producing. A teaser with English subtitles is streaming on the channel ahead of the December 16 premiere.

Wondering Mate runs on Meta Taxi's YouTube channel, so Hurray!'s short has to build a whole world of discontinued-app avatars inside a format that lives or dies in its first few seconds.
Hurray!'s Wondering Mate builds its cast from avatars of discontinued apps, a premise that fits shorts better than a series: each orphaned avatar is a quick visual joke.
Wondering Mate is an original short for Meta Taxi's YouTube channel, and its cast is made of avatars from discontinued apps. That premise does double duty: the abandoned apps explain why these characters want or refuse a human life, and the short format lets Hurray! sketch each one in seconds.
Hurray!, one of the studios on A Few Moments of Cheers, is planning and animating Wondering Mate, an original short anime for Meta Taxi's YouTube channel.
