He had called it his retirement work in earlier posts, on February 4 and May 28. Kairoki Hime has volumes 1 and 2 on sale. Oku said he will draw both Kairoki Hime and GANTZ:E through to the end.
Oku restating the retirement on his own account turns an earlier offhand remark into a declared endpoint for a two-series schedule, and it lands while adaptations of his other manga are still moving: Thunder 3, written under a second pen name, has a second anime season set for 2027 and a GIGANT film is announced.

Oku first floated the idea in February, when he wrote that he was about to turn 60 and this would probably be his retirement work. By May he had dropped the qualifier. The October 12 post on his official X account closes the loop, with the author saying he has drawn enough and is retiring with Kairoki Hime.

The manga runs in Big Comic Superior, and volumes 1 and 2 are on sale. Oku also said he will draw GANTZ:E to its end alongside it. Separately, Yuki Ikeda revealed on September 24 that Thunder 3 is another of Oku's pen names; the anime version of that series began streaming on Netflix on July 8, with a second season set for 2027. A theatrical anime film of GIGANT has been announced.

Hiroya Oku is committing to draw both Kairoki Hime and GANTZ:E through to the end, so the retirement claim now carries the unfinished work with it.
Hiroya Oku ties retirement to finishing both Kairoki Hime and GANTZ:E, not to Kairoki Hime alone.
Hiroya Oku says he will draw Kairoki Hime and GANTZ:E through to the end.
