The single-player Three Kingdoms RPG sandbox comes from a China-based team of fewer than 10 people who grew up on Taiko Risshiden and Romance of the Three Kingdoms. It includes more than 1,300 generals, over 20 scenarios, and mod support through Steam Workshop, plus Japanese support added with the full release.","whyItMatters":"A sub-10-person fan team spent five and a half years building the Taiko Risshiden-style sandbox they felt the series no longer provided, and the full release plus Japanese support now puts that substitute in front of the audience it was made for.","webCardHtml":"\u003cp\u003eThe full release follows a China-region Early Access version in March 2025 and another year and a half of updates. Combat splits into three modes: real-time army battles with more than 30 troop types across over 100 maps, plus turn-based card duels and wars of words with deck-building over a thousand skills and souls. The world runs in three layers, from the full map down to city screens and small-scale stages, with more than 20 scenarios spanning the Yellow Turban Rebellion to the Battle of Xiling and over 2 million characters of scenario text.\u003c/p\u003e","blueskyPost":"Heroes' Vow: Three Kingdoms ships with Steam Workshop support, so the 1,300 generals are a starting roster for modders, not the content ceiling.","twitterPost":"Heroes' Vow: Three Kingdoms leans on Steam Workshop. The generals list is the floor, not the finish line.","threadsPost":"Heroes' Vow: Three Kingdoms ships with Steam Workshop support, which turns the 1,300 generals and 20 scenarios into a baseline other people can rewrite. Free Wing's small team built the frame; modders decide how long it stays interesting.","newsletterBlurb":"Heroes' Vow: Three Kingdoms has launched in full on PC via Steam at 2,070 yen, ending an Early Access run that began in the China region in March 2025. Free Wing and NPC Entertainment are a China-based team of fewer than 10 people who grew up on Taiko Risshiden and Romance of the Three Kingdoms; they built the game over five and a half years to fill the gap left by the absence of a Taiko Risshiden successor. Japanese support arrived with the full release, alongside Steam Workshop mod support.","attributionJson":"[{\"source\":\"Game Spark\",\"url\":\"http://www.gamespark.jp/article/2026/09/28/172861.html\",\"title\":\"Taiko Risshiden Fan-Made Moddable Three Kingdoms RPG Sandbox 'Heroes' Vow: Three Kingdoms' Launches in Full, With Japanese Support\"}]","lintFlagsJson":null,"lintHits":0,"costUsd":0,"inputTokens":4681,"outputTokens":695,"status":"published","repairAttempts":0,"nextRepairAt":null,"factsAttemptedAt":1791230836,"createdAt":"2026-10-05T20:04:12.000Z","publishedAt":"2026-10-05T20:06:11.000Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-05T20:06:11.000Z"},"cluster":{"id":"c_db6901b8ce18ee691132d9ca","canonicalTitle":"『太閤立志伝』ファンが手掛けるMod対応三国志RPGサンドボックス『英雄立志伝：三国志』正式版が配信開始！日本語実装も","representativeArticleId":"a_0d1c1dbab71f17d687aed08a","sourceCount":1,"writtenSourceCount":1,"writeAttempts":0,"isSolo":true,"entitiesJson":"{\"anime_titles\":[],\"manga_titles\":[],\"work_titles\":[\"Hero's Ambition: Romance of the Three Kingdoms\"],\"studios\":[],\"people\":[],\"type\":\"release\",\"domain\":\"games\",\"is_roundup\":false}","contentType":"news","status":"published","firstSeenAt":"2026-09-28T08:50:02.000Z","lastSeenAt":"2026-09-28T08:50:02.000Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-05T20:06:06.000Z"},"attribution":[{"source":"Game Spark","url":"http://www.gamespark.jp/article/2026/09/28/172861.html","title":"『太閤立志伝』ファンが手掛けるMod対応三国志RPGサンドボックス『英雄立志伝：三国志』正式版が配信開始！日本語実装も"}],"entities":{"anime_titles":[],"manga_titles":[],"work_titles":["Hero's Ambition: Romance of the Three Kingdoms"],"studios":[],"people":[],"type":"release","domain":"games","is_roundup":false},"keyFacts":null}
