Its Discord Bridge pairs text channels one-to-one and relays messages in both directions, carrying sender names, avatars, edits, deletions, reactions, and threads. Voice and video calls are not bridged, and messages sent while the bridge was offline are not synced retroactively.
The Discord Bridge is the part that matters: it lets a community keep its existing Discord server while running its own instance, so the migration question becomes a channel-by-channel choice rather than a move.

Harmony runs a Discord-like layout: channels on the left, conversation in the center, members on the right. A new community comes with a general text channel and a voice chat channel already in place, and administrators add the rest.

The bridge is configured under Discord Bridge in the settings panel, where administrators pick either the instance's built-in bot or a custom bot, then pair channels on each side and set the direction to bidirectional. Harmony also supports ActivityPub for interaction between separate Harmony instances, plus role-based permissions, AutoMod spam filtering, custom emojis, and two-factor authentication.

Harmony's Discord Bridge relays text one channel to one channel, but voice and video calls stay unbridged and offline messages never sync back. The bridge is a text relay, not a full merge of the two servers.
Harmony's Discord Bridge carries text, edits and reactions both ways, but voice calls and offline messages never cross. It relays text, not presence.
Harmony's Discord Bridge pairs channels one-to-one and carries names, avatars, edits, deletions, reactions and threads in both directions. Voice and video calls stay unbridged, and anything sent while the bridge was offline is not synced back, so the two sides can drift apart without either knowing.
Harmony is a free, open-source, self-hostable platform for small communities, with channels, threads, surveys, voice and video calls, screen sharing, bots, and webhooks.
