The announcement came one day after the third season's 12th and final episode aired on Monday, September 21, 2026. A teaser visual accompanied the news. The third season debuted on July 6 on Tokyo MX and BS11 and is set in Palau, marking the first time the anime's setting has moved outside Japan. Shinji Takamatsu returned as director, and studios ZERO-G and Liber handled the animation. The returning voice cast includes Yuma Uchida as Iori Kitahara, Ryohei Kimura as Kohei Imamura, and Chika Anzai as Chisa Kotegawa. The Grand Blue Dreaming manga, written by Kenji Inoue and illustrated by Kimitake Yoshioka, began serialization in Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine in April 2014 and is published digitally in English by Kodansha USA Publishing.","whyItMatters":"The season three finale aired on September 21, 2026, and season four was confirmed less than 24 hours later, a turnaround faster than the gap between season one in 2018 and season two in 2025.","webCardHtml":"\u003cp\u003eShinji Takamatsu returned as director, scriptwriter, and sound director. Palau is now the baseline, not the novelty.","threadsPost":"Grand Blue Dreaming's fourth season keeps Shinji Takamatsu directing and the same voice cast, so the variable is the setting.
