A user states a goal, and the agent gathers information, assembles a procedure, and executes it. It works with Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Calendar, and integrates with Microsoft 365, Slack, and Salesforce. Google also announced Gemini for Financial Services and Gemini for Legal.","whyItMatters":"Google is positioning Gemini Agent as the layer that carries enterprise work across apps rather than inside one, and it supports Anthropic's Claude models alongside Gemini, so the agent market now competes on orchestration rather than on the underlying model.","webCardHtml":"\u003cp\u003eGoogle announced Gemini Agent at Gemini at Work 2026 on October 8, describing it as a general-purpose agent built into the existing Gemini Enterprise platform.
