A 4Gamer writer who had never played the series used the prequel as an entry point, running the campaign solo and in online co-op plus Horde Siege and Versus.","whyItMatters":"A prequel with campaign co-op gives the series a starting point for players who found its long running order hard to enter, and this play report treats that access as the main draw rather than the lore.","webCardHtml":"\u003cp\u003eThe writer\u0026#39;s hook is the co-op campaign option, which pushed a series newcomer to try the game. The opening hours put Marcus and Dom in a bar sharing a drink after a 79-year war ends, then split the ground open and send Locust through the city.\u003c/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe improvised squad grows to four: Marcus, Dom, communications officer candidate Lucas, and former soldier Magus.
