In an interview with Automaton, producer and director Takumi Isobe of Furyu and Hosenka of Denneko Yugi said the two titles are allies rather than rivals. In it, the creators said the matching release date was a decision to build excitement together rather than compete. CRYMELIGHT is a 3D roguelike in which girls who have committed crimes fight in the afterlife world of Wonderland, and its heroine, Alice, has lost her memories. Mugen Sakura Roukaku is a 2D roguelite in which the cat-eared protagonist, Letra Stoltin, enters an infinitely rising tower and becomes trapped inside.
