It lists English and Simplified Chinese support only, with no Japanese. The port upscales the pixel art, keeps the point-and-click and first-person shooting sequences, and adds optional quality-of-life aids like cursor hints and highlighted click areas. Release date is undecided.
A 1992 PC-98 splatter horror title reaching Steam in English and Simplified Chinese, but not Japanese, shows the retro PC port market still runs on overseas demand first.

The Steam page for the port lists English and Simplified Chinese as its supported languages. Japanese, the game's original language, is not among them.

The version keeps the original's structure. Play is point-and-click, broken up by first-person shooting when Cole fights zombies, including timed shooting sequences. The pixel art is upscaled, and the store description frames the title as an homage to 1980s American splatter and B-movie zombie films. Optional aids for cursor hints and clickable areas sit alongside a scene-restart option at game over. The older UI and systems are carried over as they were, so the page warns controls may feel inconvenient next to modern titles.

Dead of the Brain ships on Steam with English and Simplified Chinese but no Japanese, a gap that points to FAKKU positioning the 1992 PC-98 original for a new overseas audience.
Dead of the Brain comes to Steam in English and Chinese but not Japanese, per FAKKU's listing for the 1992 PC-98 title.
Dead of the Brain launches on Steam with English and Simplified Chinese support but no Japanese. That absence points to FAKKU treating the 1992 PC-98 original as an overseas-first rerelease, not a domestic revival.
FairyTale's 1992 splatter horror ADV Dead of the Brain: Shirei no Sakebi has a Steam store page, published by FAKKU.
