The game puts the player in the role of Maxim, who wakes in a sleeper train berth near the new year and finds the other passenger gone. Adding it to your library during the period keeps it downloadable afterward. On Steam it costs 580 yen and holds a Very Positive rating from 83% of 128 user reviews.
A short horror game that already cleared Steam's user-review threshold is being handed out free on itch.io instead of discounted, so the window is really a library-addition deadline rather than a sale.

The free period is not a demo. Express No. 6 is the full release, and adding it to an itch.io library before the cutoff keeps it downloadable after the period ends. The game itself is built around a single clock: a timer at the top of the screen counts down the 30 minutes left until the new year, and Maxim has to solve his way through the train cars to reach the driver's cab and stop it. A camera picked up later lets him look through the Christmas decorations in the cars, including a tree, gift boxes, and hanging stockings, to see inside the presents.

Express No. 6 keeps its place in your library after the free window closes on October 5, so the itch.io run works like a permanent claim rather than a timed rental.
Express No. 6 stays in your library after the October 5 window, so the itch.io giveaway is a permanent claim.
Express No. 6 keeps the files after October 5, so the itch.io giveaway acts as a permanent claim instead of a timed trial. On Steam the same game runs 580 yen with 83% of 128 user reviews marked Very Positive, which makes the free window a pricing decision as much as a promotion.
ASK GAMES is giving away its first-person sleeper-train horror game Express No. 6 on itch.io until about 3:00 PM Japan time on October 5.
