The writer expected a comedy about oddballs and found a premiere built on sexual bits, including a teacher's remark, a student flashing his nipples, and a council member bare-hand spanking a classmate, followed by a knee to the crotch that draws blood.
The review argues the season's pattern of suggestive content aimed at teenage characters undercuts a comedy premise that could have worked on its awkward personalities alone.

The reviewer opens with the premise: Ume Mizunoe's grades are bad enough that he has to repeat a year, and joining the student council is his way out. The council he finds is not a home for ordinary students.

What follows is the complaint. A teacher announces she is going home to masturbate, a student flashes his nipples at the protagonist, and Mizunoe is handed another student's underwear to clean blood off. A censored scene has a council member spank a classmate with a bare hand and then drive a knee into his crotch until he spits blood. The reviewer names Tan Otori, the spanked student, and questions how the material has run for thirteen volumes.

Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! reads as a comedy, but Anime Feminist counts the premiere's gags as sexual assault played for laughs. That framing shifts the review from taste to harm.
Anime Feminist frames Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! around assault gags, not oddball humor. The review's subject is harm, not taste.
Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! is billed as a comedy about oddballs. Anime Feminist's review of episodes 1 and 2 instead counts the premiere's gags as assault played for laughs, which moves the argument past whether the jokes land to what the show is asking viewers to laugh at.
Anime Feminist reviewed the first two episodes of Even the Student Council Has Its Holes. The reviewer expected a high school comedy about oddballs and found a premiere built on sexual bits, including a teacher's remark about masturbation, a student flashing his nipples, and a council member spanking a classmate before kneeing him in the crotch until he bleeds. The write-up questions how the material has run for thirteen volumes.
[{"source":"Anime Feminist","url":"https://www.animefeminist.com/even-the-student-council-has-its-holes-episodes-1-2/","title":"Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! - Episodes 1-2\
{"anime_titles":["Even the Student Council Has Its Holes!"],"manga_titles":[],"work_titles":[],"studios":[],"people":[],"type":"review","domain":"anime","is_roundup":false}
["Even the Student Council Has Its Holes!
