The 40GB tier costs 3,135 yen per month, up 165 yen from the current 2,970 yen. The 60GB tier is 4,125 yen and the 120GB tier is 5,115 yen, with users able to set a cap at each level. Overseas roaming data rises from 30GB to 40GB.
Ahamo launched as a single simple price, and the August data increase to 40GB now reads as the run-up to a price rise rather than a giveaway.

The August "Data Increase Trial Campaign" that lifted ahamo to 40GB looks like the groundwork for the increase. Ahamo started at 20GB for 2,970 yen, then moved to 30GB in October 2024 at the same price before the August bump to 40GB. The Omori Option ends with the renewal, and ahamo Point Activity will apply to users on 60GB to 120GB. Reward rates in Bakuage Selection rise, with Netflix going from 10 percent to 20 percent, which the article notes can offset the higher fee for subscribers.

Ahamo's 40GB price rises 165 yen, but the 60GB and 120GB tiers let users cap at each level. The tier system gives NTT docomo room to nudge heavy users onto pricier plans without a flat rate hike.
NTT docomo's Ahamo adds 60GB and 120GB caps at 4,125 and 5,115 yen, so the 40GB increase is now the entry point, not the ceiling.
NTT docomo's Ahamo restructuring adds two higher tiers and raises roaming data to 40GB. The 165 yen bump on the 40GB plan is the visible change, but the three-tier cap structure is what reshapes how users move between plans.
NTT docomo is restructuring ahamo into three tiers on December 1, with 40GB at 3,135 yen per month, up 165 yen from the current 2,970 yen.
