The report lists two other cancellations alongside it: Directorate: Novitiate and a sequel to Battle Island. Digital Bros said it reviewed the gameplay of each title multiple times and weighed changes in the market environment and the additional investment needed to finish. In a March 2026 report from Wild Bunch Productions, Kaneko said he had submitted a vertical slice ROM containing the main scenario and basic specifications to the publisher, whose identity was not disclosed at that time. As of the time of writing, Wild Bunch Productions had posted no explanation of the cancellation on its official website.","whyItMatters":"Armed Fantasia drew roughly 379 million yen from 17,920 backers in a 2022 joint Kickstarter with Penny Blood, so a publisher-side cancellation leaves the crowd-funded side of that campaign without a stated path.","webCardHtml":"\u003cp\u003eDigital Bros announced the cancellations on September 24 in the report for its fiscal year ending June 2026.
