Players pick an aircraft and two special weapons, boost instead of throttling up gradually, and build combo ranks by downing enemies in succession. Ammo is infinite, cooldowns are not, and level-ups offer three parts to choose one from.
The build pairs Ace Combat's control grammar with Devil May Cry's score grammar, and its stall-recovery boost mechanic turns a used-up resource into a timed bonus, which is the kind of risk-and-reward loop that decides whether a roguelike holds up past the first hour.

The aircraft come first, then the weapons. Standard lock-on missiles and machine guns are equipped by default, and each player selects two special weapons from a roster that includes ricochet missiles, a short-range area gun, and blade-shaped light waves.

Sorties have no allies, only fighters and drones to shoot down, and the throttle works as a boost that accelerates at once and cannot be held long. Empty the boost gauge and the plane stalls; match the boost button timing three times to restart the engine and fly on free boost for a fixed period.

DELIVERY MUST COMPLETE swaps the throttle lever for a boost button. That removes the management layer dogfight games use to pace fights, so Top Hat Studios is betting combo ranks can carry that tension instead.
DELIVERY MUST COMPLETE drops the throttle lever for a boost button. Combo ranks have to carry the pacing that fuel management used to.
DELIVERY MUST COMPLETE throws out the throttle lever and uses a boost button instead. Infinite ammo with cooldowns as the limiter means Yoyoyollie is trading resource management for timing, and combo ranks become the only thing pacing a fight.
Yoyoyollie and Top Hat Studios brought DELIVERY MUST COMPLETE to TGS2026, and its own tagline describes it as a fusion of Devil May Cry and Ace Combat. The dogfight roguelike gives players an aircraft, two special weapons, and infinite ammo with cooldowns, then ranks them on how stylishly they clear the sky. Its boost gauge cuts both ways: run it to zero and you stall, recover on timing and you fly on free boost.
[{"source":"Game Spark","url":"http://www.gamespark.jp/article/2026/09/26/172781.html","title":"Doing 'Devil May Cry' in the Sky!?
