Players assemble a team of five characters, combine their powers to fight Bakeaka, and walk around the town of Kusatsu. Development director Kim Byung-gi says early stages run about 2-3 minutes, with kiting action central to combat.
The adaptation treats the manga's own phrase 'exorcism is a team sport' as the design brief, which is why the game is a five-character roguelite rather than a solo action title.

Kim Byung-gi, the IAN Games director overseeing development, said the project began as a team-based roguelite for mobile before the team read Shizu Watanabe's manga. The manga's town setting and the 2-3 minute stages pull in opposite directions: one wants lingering, the other wants the next run.
Dead Account: Two Blue Flames, handled by Smilegate Megaport and developed by IAN Games, turns Shizu Watanabe's manga into a five-character team roguelite. Director Kim Byung-gi told Inside that the project started as a mobile team roguelite before the team read the source material, and that the manga's own 'exorcism is a team sport' framing matched what they were building. Combat keeps survivor-style dodging but adds kiting action, and the town of Kusatsu carries story not shown in the manga.
[{"source":"Inside","url":"https://www.inside-games.jp/article/2026/10/02/188634.html","title":"How Do You Turn "Exorcism Is a Team Sport" Into a Game?
