The expansion is a collaboration with Subnautica 2, and it is scheduled to launch in early 2027. In the DLC, protagonist Dave travels through a portal to the alien planet from Subnautica 2. Footage shown during the stream had Dave collecting underwater materials, catching fish, and meeting a Leviathan. Subnautica 2 is the next entry in the Subnautica survival series and supports co-op for up to four players. Dave the Diver mixes daytime ocean diving to catch fish with nighttime sushi restaurant management. Its worldwide cumulative sales passed 10 million copies in September 2026, and it entered early access on Steam in October 2022 before a full release in June 2023. The collaboration DLC will be available on Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
By making this the last Dave the Diver DLC, MINTROCKET closes the game's update line on a crossover with another ocean game rather than an internal expansion.

Denfaminicogamer describes Dave crossing through a mysterious portal to the alien planet, and notes the footage shows him gathering materials, catching fish, and meeting a Leviathan.

Game Spark frames the setting differently: the alien ocean from Subnautica 2 comes to the Blue Hole, Dave the Diver's own map, rather than Dave leaving for the alien world.

Automaton notes the alien seabed and creatures are being rebuilt in Dave the Diver's familiar art style, and calls the trip a "life-threateningly risky fishing trip in search of new ingredients."

Game Spark points out the two games share underwater exploration as a major element but differ sharply: survival on an alien world with unknown marine life versus catching fish and running a sushi restaurant.

Subnautica 2 is described as the latest entry in the Subnautica survival series and launched in May 2026, per Denfaminicogamer.

Automaton lists the current Dave the Diver platforms as PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store), PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

Dave the Diver's last DLC sends Dave through a portal into Subnautica 2's alien ocean.
