The announcement came on October 27. The scenario, Tsushima Strait Crisis, is a fictional conflict in which China and North Korea jointly launch a surprise attack to occupy Kamijima in northern Tsushima. China, looking to expand its interests in the Northern Sea Route, keeps a presence in the Sea of Japan and deploys a fleet under the pretext of joint exercises. After cyberattacks and drone strikes, units believed to be Chinese Navy marines take the Unishima Detachment Base and fishing ports. Explosives believed planted by North Korean agents destroy the Manzeki Bridge, which links Kamijima to Shimojima, blocking the JGSDF Tsushima Garrison's main force from advancing. The player sends ships and aircraft from Kyushu and Honshu to retake the occupied objectives. The Japanese side fields Taigei-class submarines, SH-60K and Maya-class destroyers; the Chinese side fields the Nanchang-class destroyer and the YJ-21 ballistic missile.","whyItMatters":"The October 29 update ends the monthly pairing of one scenario and one free map that has run since July, and the next scenario maps are not scheduled until 2027.","webCardHtml":"\u003cp\u003eThe second addition, Invaders from Goryokaku II, is a free map set in the star-shaped fort at Hakodate in Hokkaido, where the player intercepts an enemy force closing from three directions.
