Dream Reality Interactive develops the story-driven deckbuilder for PC via Steam, with a Spring 2027 release. It is co-created with Damien Monnier, designer of the original Gwent. Players are Lazare Hoche, a betrayed general awaiting the guillotine in the Carmes Prison during the French Revolution, where card duels decide whether they survive the night.
The announcement pairs a historical prison thriller with the sacrifice cost system and a Gwent designer's name, giving Curve Games a deckbuilder aimed at the genre's established audience.

The game sets its card duels inside the Carmes Prison during the Reign of Terror in Paris. A new opponent arrives each night, and losing sends Lazare to the guillotine at dawn. Opponents include historical figures of the French Revolution, each with their own playstyle and secrets.

The sacrifice system is the core: summoning powerful characters costs cards, board slots, or health. Defeated opponents go to the guillotine, and their cards can be taken to strengthen the player's deck. Between duels, players explore the prison, solve puzzles, and gather information to uncover the conspiracy behind the imprisonment. A story mode and a Tower Mode are planned, with Dream Reality Interactive's CEO Dave Ranyard describing the design as forcing harsh trade-offs.

Damien Monnier co-created Lazare's Sacrifice, which sets its card duels inside the Carmes Prison rather than a battlefield. Curve Games is betting deckbuilding can carry a guillotine premise.
Lazare's Sacrifice uses card duels to decide survival in the Carmes Prison. Monnier's deckbuilding logic now runs on Revolutionary terror, not fantasy armies.
Lazare's Sacrifice hands deckbuilding a guillotine instead of a battlefield: players are Lazare Hoche, a betrayed general in the Carmes Prison, and the cards decide if he sees morning. Damien Monnier built Gwent's systems; here the same logic carries a life-or-death frame rather than a fantasy one.
Curve Games announced Lazare's Sacrifice during the Triple-i Initiative Showcase, a story-driven deckbuilder from Dream Reality Interactive co-created with Gwent designer Damien Monnier.
