The free-to-play action RPG now carries a Motoko Kusanagi pet whose Barrier Break skill applies Control Deprivation for 10 seconds, a Tachikoma mount with swappable paint, and a four-player dungeon called Mimic Battlefield where players drive Tachikoma and collect Extreme Gear.
The update leans on the 2002 TV anime's imagery rather than its plot, turning Section 9's lead and its thinking tanks into a pet and a mount inside a magicpunk MMO, which is the shape licensed crossovers now take for live free-to-play games hunting new players.

The collaboration runs on the October 28 update and covers PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and Windows, plus PS5, iOS and Android, with cross-platform support. Motoko Kusanagi arrives as a pet: her active skill hacks a target's cyberbrain, applies Control Deprivation for 10 seconds, then locks onto weak points and fires. Data gathered that way feeds Field Sync, which passes a damage boost to allies.

The Tachikoma mount switches among five paint types and can fire a wire hook to leap at targets or slide along the ground. In the Mimic Battlefield dungeon, four players each control a Tachikoma, attack other players and monsters to collect Extreme Gear, and level up; final rankings pay out Neuro Chips and Superior Prosthetics, which unlock items such as the SS-Class Footprint Ghost's Afterimage.

Crystal of Atlan's Ghost in the Shell: SAC crossover is live as of the October 28 update: Motoko Kusanagi as a pet, a Tachikoma mount with five paint types, and a four-player Tachikoma dungeon called Mimic Battlefield.
Crystal of Atlan added its Ghost in the Shell: SAC collaboration on October 28.
