The single-player World War II tank action game drops the hit-point system for armor penetration: tanks carry thick front armor with weak sides and rear, shell power falls with distance, and angled impacts can ricochet for no damage. More than 15 tanks are playable, including the T-34/76, KV-1, Panther G, Panzer IV, Tiger I, Tiger II, and Hetzer. Further missions, maps, and tanks are planned.
Chobi Softwear's move from mobile tank-themed apps to a Steam tank action game keeps the studio on the same niche, and the armor-penetration rule set is what separates it from hit-point tank games.

The game runs on a penetration model rather than health bars. Shell power drops with distance, impact angle matters, and a badly angled shot can ricochet without damage, so positioning the tank perpendicular to the enemy is the core skill. Missions cover close-quarters fights among obstacles, long-range interception, fog encounters, and escorts. A reconnaissance aircraft view lets players read enemy movement from above and plan an escape or an ambush. Artillery fire is handled in first person through a gunsight, with zero-in adjustment and barrel angle set by hand at long range.

Tank Battle Classic cuts HP bars so a single shot through side armor can end a fight. That raises the cost of positioning, since one poor angle leaves a Tiger II as exposed as a light tank.
Tank Battle Classic drops HP bars, so one shot through side armor can end a fight. Positioning matters more than health.
Tank Battle Classic trades HP bars for armor penetration and ricochets. In a game with over 15 tanks like the Tiger II and T-34/76, that puts the pressure on angles: a shot that misses the weak side hits front plating for nothing.
Chobi Softwear launched Tank Battle Classic on Steam on September 25.
