He said the story began as an idea from the MLB Players Association, that contracts took about two years to settle, and that a spider-like character arrives in chapter six.
Bright's volume estimate and his talk of league arcs beyond the tournament give the MLB Players Association-backed manga a rough shape, and the chapter six tease suggests the book keeps adding characters while the tournament runs.

Bright described the tournament as season one of a larger structure. Five volumes would cover that arc alone, with the league itself left for material he called potential season two and season three, written for as long as readers keep buying. The GAIA uniforms carry that same sense of stages: the team is run down when it first appears, and Luna arrives to renovate the branding, which is why the handwritten tournament poster looks worn next to the clean uniform lettering. Bright said he treats every player equally rather than building the book around Shohei Ohtani, since the hero changes from game to game.

Acky Bright pegs GalaXic Baseball League at about five volumes, and the arc he calls a first season is the tournament run.
